Adoptions and Kennel Manager
Tara has been working with animals for the past 20 years. She began her career in 1998 working at Add En On kennels and then as a kennel attendant at Companion Animal Hospital. She eventually became their kennel manager for the following 17 years. During that time, she also started her own grooming business, Shampooch Grooming, which she has own and operated since 2005. Tara came to One Love Pet Adoptions in 2017 and has been the manager here since then. She is quite experienced in handling animals and is a great animal advocate. Tara has an amazing ability working with dogs and cats, especially those who are fearful or with aggressive tendencies. When not working at One Love, or grooming dogs and cats, Tara enjoys spending time with her kids, Caleb and Taylor, her family, and friends. She likes dancing, listening to music, painting, abstract artwork, and of course animals. Her fur family includes 5 dogs: Lola, Felicity, Petey, Vera, and Kiera (her “step-dog’), and 2 cats: Alvin and BIanca. Tara wishes to retire by the time she reaches 55 years of age and would love to travel through Africa, Ireland, and Australia, and one day, to own a few horses.
Lisa is a fantastic adoption specialist at One Love Pet Adoptions and has been part of our team for over a year and a half now. As a dog lover for over 40 years, caring for the adoption pets comes naturally to her. She has a knack for remembering every single pet she has helped find a home for, whether recent or not. She genuinely cares and loves each and every one of them as if they were here very own. Lisa shares her home with her husband Ken, their children Parker and Cassie, and their fur babies Bailey and Dixie, a couple of beautiful Beagles. Lisa enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling, and her main goals at this point are to find homes to as many dogs and cats as possible, and to travel to as many new places as she can!
Ashley joined One Love Pet Adoptions as a kennel attendant and adoption specialist, She is truly passionate about animals and wants nothing more than to find loving homes for each and every one of our One Love fur friends. As a pet parent, Ashley has lots of experience nurturing and caring for animals, including her black lab Sparky, who is a diabetic. She also has a Golden Retriever named Johanna, and a kitty named Duke. Ashley loves learning new things all the time and enjoys taking care of customers when they come in to One Love. During her free time, Ashley loves being outdoors and going on hikes and walks with her friends and pets.
As an animal lover, Cassie has found ways to be involved with animals in all aspects of her life. Before starting work with us as a kennel attendant, she worked on a dairy farm taking care of calves. Cassie shares her home with her boyfriend Zach, and their two dogs Anna and Skyler and they love being pet parents. Cassie loves horseback riding and doing anything that involves cows! She would like one day to own a house with lots of land where she can have a herd of beef cows, chickens, goats and more. Cassie recently graduated from Alfred State with a degree on Agricultural Business. Congrats Cassie!
Eric is no stranger to working with animals. Before we became One Love Pet Adoptions, he volunteered at Scottsville Pet Adoptions for several years. Eric decided to take the plunge and become an employee with us. And boy, are we glad to have him! Eric loves animals and has a kind and caring nature that the animals are naturally drawn to. He loves caring for them and is often found snuggling and petting our fur friends at One Love. Though Eric does not have any fur friends of his own, he does have a pet fish, and one day would like to adopt a dog of his own. Eric loves to play sports, watch movies, and listen to music. He has a big family and likes to spend time with them whenever he can. Fun fact about Eric: he has 6 brothers and only 1 sister!
Prior to working with us, Marisa worked at a barn where she single handedly cared for 22 horses! Marissa’s sweet and calming demeanor, as well as her gentle handling of the animals, allows her to take excellent care of all of our adoption and kennel pets. When Marissa is not working or attending college, she likes to spend her free time horseback riding and snuggling all of her fur babies! She recently adopted a couple of pets from us; Honey, an adorable pup who came from Puerto Rico, and Quinn, a sweet calico kitten. She also has 2 other dogs, Charlie and Damon, and a kitty named Nemo. At college, Marissa is working on becoming a veterinary technician. Undoubtedly she will become one of the best techs in the field.
As an animal lover and pet parent, working with animals is a dream come true to Alexis. She shows love, compassion, and demonstrates her caring nature, when working with our adoptable pets. Alexis loves all of them as if they were her own. Speaking of her own pets, Alexis has 2 cats, Harvey and Azula, and a dog named Malcolm. Animals are her passion, so Alexis plans on spending her career in the veterinary field. She plans to apply to veterinary school once she completes her degree on Ecology and Evolutionary biology at the University of Rochester.
Kristie is one of our newest kennel attendants at One Love Pet Adoptions, and we are so happy to have her with us. She’s been working with animals for over 12 years and has raised many a fur baby herself. She started off at Companion Animal Hospital working in the kennels and eventually as a animal care assistant. Kristie lives in Rochester with her husband Rick, and their two children Griffin and Cooper. Her fur family includes 2 dogs, Ayden and Nova (whom she adopted from One Love), and a kitty named Chevy. Kristie loves spending time with her family and enjoys playing sports and photography on her spare time. She is also close friends with Tara, our Adoptions Manager, so you can probably find the two of them together hanging out in the sun with an ice cold drink!
