To our clients,
We must all do our part to keep each other safe and limit the spread of Coronavirus. ? Thank you for your patience and support as we work to protect you and our team. We are implementing some protocol changes in order to continue providing care for your pets. In an effort to limit human interaction for everyone during this pandemic, we are focusing on urgent care and sick visits and minimizing non-emergent wellness visits. We are trying to have as few people as possible in the hospital, so we?ve closed our waiting area, and we?ve decided to implement curbside drop-off appointments. This is how curbside drop-off exams will work:
-
If you and your family are healthy, and you would like to schedule an appointment for your pet, please call (889-8340) and schedule as you would normally.
-
Upon arrival at Riverside, please wait outside the hospital in your car and call the hospital. The receptionist will check you in and verify your contact info (cell # & email) and then pass the call to one of our technicians or vet assistants to collect your pet?s information and reason for the visit. Once this is done, the tech or assistant will meet you at the car to collect your pet. During their visit, your pet will always be accompanied by one of our team members, who?ll ensure your pet is safe and comfortable.
-
The veterinarian will perform the exam and services in one of our designated exam rooms with the help of a vet tech. We will call you during your pet’s appointment if there are any questions or if we need to discuss your concerns further and share our findings. Just like a normal in-person visit, we’ll discuss costs before proceeding with any tests or treatments. We?ll handle follow-ups and payments over the phone.
-
If you’re visiting the clinic to pick up medication, we will bring it to you outside or leave it in a designated dropbox.? Please call us to confirm that you are picking it up and complete payment over the phone.
-
If you are not feeling well or have potentially been exposed to COVID-19, please ask a healthy friend or family member to bring your pet to Riverside Vet Hospital on your behalf.
Aside from visiting us in person for a curbside appt or pick up medications, there are several other ways you can get in touch with us:
-
Telemedicine: Dr. Velez and Dr. Mueller have launched telemedicine service via TeleTails! TeleTails offers both video chat and message-based consultations. Through TeleTails, clients can upload a picture or a video, or start a live video consultation, and move freely between live video and message-based communication.? See our post on Telemedicine for more details.

At Riverside Veterinary Hospital, our mission is to strengthen the human-animal bond, and as such, it is important that we keep our veterinary services available to our community. In light of COVID-19, we have to change the ways in which we approach vet care, but it does not affect our commitment to keeping your pets safe and healthy. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding ? please don?t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
